Timothy laughed. “Well, let me think here. Want me to walk you back to the dormitories so we can change? I don’t want your outfit getting ruined or something. I really do want to go swimming.” He smiled, taking her hand. “It will be fun.” HE said, swinging her hand a bit.
Doll’s stomach flipped when Timothy took her hand, and she looked back to the dorms, which were pretty far away. “Well, if you just want to swim in our regular clothes, I don’t mind. Or we could go back.” She suggested, looking down at her dress. Actually, she probably would have minded, but she was feeling a little adventurous today. And when a girl considers swimming in her clothes “adventerous,” you knew she didn’t do anything exciting much.
Timothy smiled. “I want to go swimming. Tell you what. I’ll go shopping with you another day and I will pay for a new dress since we are going to ruin this one.” He walked closer towards her and brushed her hair back behind her ears. “It’s the least I can do.” He walked over towards the water and lifted his shirt off of his body. He looked over at her and gestured for her to follow him.
“Thanks, but you don’t have to get me a new dress, really.” Doll told him. She followed him out into the water, careful not to stare too much. But it was hard not to. It was pretty cold, but she didn’t really mind. Although she wasn’t surrounded by water back home, she was a pretty natural swimmer.

Timothy smiled. He turned the camera off and nodded. “Trust me, that’s the goal. I want to be able to take amazing pictures for weddings and social events. When I was little, I use to do that at the Pride family hotel. I always would be in the background taking the photos.” He chuckled. “Of course, my camera wasn’t this sophisticated at the time, but it did the job.” He walked over towards the edge of the lake and examined the water. “We should go swimming together.” He said, smiling.
“Wow, that’s really impressive.” Doll told him, the Pride kids appearing in her head. She didn’t know that their family owned a hotel. She walked up next to Timothy, her toes getting a little wet from the water. “I’d love to do that!” Doll said, excited. Swimming was one of her favorite things. “But wait, we don’t have swimsuits.”

Timothy smiled and took a few more snaps of her. After about twenty minutes of trying out different poses, Timothy looked through them and smiled at the progress he was making. “Alright, come here for a minute. I want to show you the first picture I took of you.” He showed her the camera and scrolled through the different poses. “This was first time we were hanging out. See, look how cute you look.” He pointed to the screen.
Doll smiled, looking at the camera and seeing what amazing pictures Timothy took. She’d never been confident in front of the camera, but she actually felt pretty in a lot of the photos. “Thank you.” She said brightly, studying each picture closely to try to see what Timothy had done to make them look so great. “You’re an amazing photographer. Really, you should take pictures as a career.”

Timothy bit his lip looking at Doll. She was so cute. It was hard not to stare at her. He tried to remain professional as possible, but it was hard not to flirt with her. He walked over towards her and shook his head. “No, not like this.” He got behind her and placed his arms around her. Adjusting her arms and fingers to lay flat on her thighs. He looked down at her and smiled. “Like this. ” He got in front of her and brushed back her hair behind her ears. “That look you have on you right now. Is perfect.” He said.
Doll bit her lip, trying to suppress the smile that would not disappear from her face. Butterflies began to flutter in her stomach when Timothy adjusted her pose, and when he complimented her, she felt the tips of her ears turn red. “Thank you.” She said quietly, trying not to move from the position Timothy had put her in. Why did she have to fall for boys so easily? She wondered what everyone else saw in Timothy, and if he was flirty with the other girls Red had talked about. But she refused to get jealous. They weren’t dating or anything, right? So she didn’t need to worry.

Timothy laughed .”You’re blushing? I don’t know why you’re always blushing. I’m just being honest. You look cute today. Accept the compliment and don’t be embarrassed by it.” They walked over towards the lake, the sun hitting the water just right. “Alright, there is a rock right there. I kind of want you to sit on it and try looking out towards the water. Longing to want to go in.” He smiled, adjusting his camera.
“Thank you.” Doll grinned. But she could still feel that her cheeks were pink. She looked around at the lake, thinking that it was a great idea to take pictures there, especially when the sun was at the point that it was in the sky. She nodded and bit at the corner of her lip, walking over to the rock and sitting down, looking out into the water. “Like this?” She asked, trying to keep a straight face and hoping she wasn’t doing anything wrong.

Timothy smirked. “You would. It’s ok to be shy about it.” He snapped a picture of her blushing and winked. “Don’t be too shy, though. Going to need to be all out for this photography session.” He smiled, walking with her over towards a lake. Not really telling her where they were going. He wanted it to be a surprise. “I like your dress by the way.”
Doll giggled, adjusting the bag on her shoulder and following Timothy, wondering where they were off to. “Thank you!” She said happily, blushing again. “I always blush. Then I realize I’m blushing, and I blush harder. It’s so annoying.” She commented, rolling her eyes and feeling her face getting hot.

We’re Simply Meant to Be.: A doll & a camera
Timothy was finished with one of his difficult classes. Regretting that he was going to take pictures of doll and not study. He walked down the steps of the school leading out towards the quad, watching the usual social cliques make their way. He smiled over at Doll, she was sitting by herself reading a romance novel. Seemed more like Doll, all into romance and cheesy movies. He walked over towards her and stuck his hands in his pockets. “I would catch you reading those sort of books.” He smiled.
Doll smiled, putting her book in her bag and blushing a little. “Hey, Sarah Dessen is a great novelist!” She argued, snapping her bag shut, putting it over her shoulder, and standing up. She looked around, trying to think of a good place where they could take pictures. She realized after a minute that she didn’t know much about photography, so her suggestions wouldn’t really matter. “Where should we go?”

Hi Timothy.
I don’t know if you’d want to, I’m not very photogenic… But maybe we could?
You are pretty photogenic. I actually wanted to show you the pics I developed from our last time we were together.
Oh, thank you.
That sounds like fun! I’m excited to see them.
Great, I’ll meet you at the quad soon. I get off class in a bit. can’t wait to see you.
Awesome! I can’t wait to see you, either.
